Off to a great start!

Parents, your kids are doing amazingly well and are adjusting nicely to the new schedules and routines of sixth grade! Here are a few things that may help keep them on track and up to date.

1. Thank you notes should be completed and hanged in today. (August 31)
2. Quiz on the six traits of writing- September 1, 09. (a study sheet is in their binders)
3. We are doing sentence practice this week. (Review the five things needed in a sentence)
a. Noun
b. Verb
c. Complete thought
d. Capital
e. Punctuation
4. This week we are also learning the different genres in Literature and discussing the first book report project. Watch for additional information.
5. Bell work. Some kids are loosing points here. This is done at the beginning of every day and cannot be made up. It is checked every Friday. Please stress the importance of being prepared and organized.
6. We have also gone over Editing notes with a worksheet and quiz. Scores are on power school.

Please check your child's grades on power school to see if they are missing any of the above mentioned items.
